About
How Phoenix Key Desk works
Phoenix Key Desk connects people in Phoenix and five neighboring cities (Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale, Glendale, Chandler) with a lock business. Nobody here picks locks or cuts keys. Whatever you send us goes to a single independent company that covers your ZIP, and that company phones you, quotes the work and does it.
How the money works
The lock business pays us a fee for each referral. You owe us nothing at any point. Their prices are theirs alone, and no part of what you pay them comes back to us.
Our list for the businesses we refer
- A registered company or trade name, said on the phone and printed on the invoice, that shows up on the Arizona Corporation Commission's eCorp.
- A single total quoted before work, with the trip inside it.
- A look at your ID before a house or car gets opened or a key gets cut.
- Picks and bypass tools first; drilling only with an explanation given in advance.
- An itemized invoice at the end.
Tell us by text at (480) 672-3601 if any visit misses on one of these.
The Arizona gap
Title 32 of the Arizona Revised Statutes licenses dozens of occupations, from barbers to contractors. It has no locksmith chapter. The city adds nothing. The Registrar of Contractors covers building jobs that reach $1,000, which a lockout or a rekey never does. So in practice, anybody can buy an ad as a Phoenix locksmith, and your questions on the phone are what screen them. The checks that still work.
Sources
At the bottom of each guide is a numbered list of everything it cites. The data page is our own work from federal datasets, with the full method published. How the data was built.
Author
John Voll writes the guides. He doesn't work as a locksmith. His job here is reading the sources and naming where every figure came from.
